Day Cast Official
I know this isn’t exactly breaking news, but since we had so much time off, we missed reporting on it before. The casting for Steve Miner’s ill-advised remake of George A. Romero’s Day of the Dead has been “officially” announced to include Ving Rhames, Mena Suvari (pictured…. yum), and Nick Cannon. Depending on where you read the info, Rhames will be reprising his role from 2003’s ill-advised but well-received remake of Dawn of the Dead.
I honestly don’t know if that’s the case or not, but I can say it’s a bit odd that all this casting is being thrown about and not a word has been mentioned as to how closely it will follow Romero’s original yet. Usually they try and give us something to praise or complain about by this point, but right now we just have the simple fact that it’s happening…
Steve Miner, in case the name sounds familiar, previously helmed Lake Placid and Halloween H20, which was arguably a lot better than anyone had hoped for, so hopefully we’ll be able to say the same for Day of the Dead as well.
