Alone in the Dark: Illumination Available for Pre-order; Spooky New Trailer
Is there anything more foreboding than a dark poem? Horned demons leap from shadows, bloated beasts lunge at their next victims, while assault rifles spit death beads. All to the cracked leather voice lamenting, “Where they roll in their horror, unheeded. Without knowledge or luster or name.”
This was the unsettling minute and a half of Alone in the Dark: Illumination’s new pre-order trailer.
The trailer is the official announcement that the new Alone in the Dark sequel, originally slated for a Q3 2104 release, is available for pre-order on Steam. No official release date has been given.
Based on the trailer, the gameplay appears action-oriented, running in contrast to the current wave of games that wish to return survival horror to its low ammo roots.
Alone in the Dark: Illumination will feature four campaign modes where players take control of one of four characters: the witch, the hunter, the priest, or the engineer. All inside what Atari calls, “the blasted landscape of Lorwich and deep below to unearth mysteries of this forsaken township.”
Alone in the Dark: Illumination will be available for PC with no word so far on a console version.
