Lifetime Burns The Witches of East End at the Stake; Show Cancelled
And another one bites the dust. With horror all the rage these days on TV and the success of shows like “American Horror Story” and “The Walking Dead,” each cable network is looking for its own spooky (or sometimes not so spooky) hook to capture the hearts and ratings share of viewers. Some of which are just unsuccessful.
EW is reporting that Lifetime has cancelled “Witches of East End” after two seasons. Based on the book series of the same name, the series followed the Beauchamp family of witches (Julia Ormond, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Rachel Boston and Madchen Amick). The second season culminated in several cliffhangers that unfortunately will just leave you hanging.
Will the network fare better with their The Omen-inspired “Damien” from former “Walking Dead” showrunner Glen Mazzara? Time will tell.
