Mike Vogel and Ryan Smith Team Up for Reverse
“Under the Dome” and “Bates Motel” star Mike Vogel has partnered with filmmaker Ryan Smith (After) on a new sci-fi/thriller short film, titled Reverse. They are currently raising funds on Kickstarter in hopes that it will pave the way for a feature-length version.
“Reverse blends two worlds,” Vogel says. “You have a sci-fi aspect of our story, which uses a time travel angle, but under that you have this very character-driven piece that wrestles with some difficult questions. I think the door is wide open to take this thing to a longer format and really get into some intricate detail.”
Chad and Carey Hayes, the screenwriting team behind 2013’s wildly successful The Conjuring, have signed on as executive producers on the short. Also confirmed on the project is the acclaimed indie rock project Sleeping at Last.
Support for the campaign begins with a simple $5 commitment to see the film, followed by an assortment of offerings including the soundtrack, tickets to a private screening, signed scripts, and Associate Producer credits. As with all Kickstarter campaigns, these rewards are contingent upon the campaign being fully funded.
Synopsis:
Reverse is an edge-of-your-seat sci-fi thriller about one man’s quest for redemption in a world where time travel is a reality.
After a heated argument ends in the tragic death of his wife, Mira, Marshall Crone (Vogel) uses a service called Multiverse to travel twenty-four hours into the past in an effort to save her. But this mission proves to be more far more complicated than he imagined.
