Horror Films Clinger and Body to Premiere at 2015 Slamdance Film Festival
This coming January marks the 21st anniversary of the Slamdance Film Festival, which was originally started as an alternative to Sundance. Today the narrative and documentary lineups for the 2015 fest have been announced, and two horror films are among the competitors. Read on!
First up is Michael Steves’ Clinger, co-written by Steves, Gabi Chennisi Duncombe, and Bubba Fish. With a cast that includes Vincent Martella, Jennifer Laporte, Julia Aks, Lisa Wilcox, and Debbie Rochon, the film centers on Fern Petersen, whose life is thrown into turmoil when her possessive boyfriend dies in an accident. Things go from bad to worse when he returns as a love-sick ghost to kill her so they can be together for eternity.
Also premiering is Body, directed/co-written by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen. Three twenty-something girls break into a mansion and inadvertently murder the groundskeeper in the horror flick, and they slowly self-destruct as they decide what to do with the dead body in the living room. Helen Rogers, Alexandra Turshen, Lauren Molina, and Larry Fessenden star.
The 2015 Slamdance Film Festival takes place at the Treasure Mountain Inn in Park City, Utah. It kicks off January 23rd and runs through the 29th.
