Silent Night, Bloody Night 2: Revival Headed Down the Chimney
One of the first movies to blend Christmas and horror was 1974’s Silent Night, Bloody Night, which admittedly has very little to do with the holiday season – aside from the title and the time of year it takes place in. Nevertheless, it would be unfair to talk holiday horror without giving it a shout-out, and today we’ve learned that a sequel is on the way!
Yes, 40 years after the release of the original film and one year after the release of a little-seen remake, Silent Night, Bloody Night is at long last getting the sequel treatment, the impending film being described as a direct follow-up to the events of the 1974 slasher.
The timely news was broken this week over on the Retrosploitation Facebook page, where it was revealed that they’ll be working with New Wave Pictures on the sequel, titled Silent Night, Bloody Night 2: Revival.
Set to begin shooting during Christmas this month, the movie has booked Jennifer Runyon (To All a Goodnight) in a supporting role, and it’s set for release sometime next year.
In the meantime, check out the first poster mock-up below, which we hope isn’t the final art!
