Campbell News That’s Mmm Mmm Good!
It may not be much, but I see it as a good sign that things are moving forward for Don Coscarelli’s planned Bubba Ho-Tep prequel, Bubba Nosferatu.
A reader named “Wally Balljacker” dropped us a line today with directions to check out Creation Entertainment’s listing for the Burbank Weekend of Horrors planned for May 18-20 next year. At the bottom of the celeb listing, there’s a note stating that Bruce Campbell had to cancel his appearance because he’d be shooting Bubba Nosferatu at the same time! Now of course this isn’t any kind of official word, but like I said, it’s a damn fine sign that Coscarelli has gotten his wish to see the movie made!
In other Bruce news, the Bruce Campbell blogspot posted an entry from My Name is Bruce writer Mark Verheiden (who is also penning a comic book adaptation of The Evil Dead) discussing his reaction to a recent viewing of the director’s assembly of the film: “While this is obviously biased, I’ll just say it — there are some gut-bustingly funny scenes in this baby,” he enthused. “If you’re a fan of Bruce’s, umm, more “manic” style in the Evil Dead movies, you’re gonna be in hog heaven. There is one crazy take of Bruce simply trying to get a door unlocked that had me falling out of my chair… it’s great to finally see the madness come together! Post production continues and we’re still looking at a theatrical release for 2007, so keep watching your multiplex!”
Wow. My Name is Bruce in theaters? Is the public ready for that? Damn, I hope so. Keep it here for more udpates on both films as we learn ’em, and click here to check out Verheiden’s entire blog!
Kick ass the Bruce Campbell way in our forums!
