Hercules Vs. Slime Monster in Something Beneath
I really have to question the wisdom of trying to market a horror film by throwing around Kevin Sorbo’s name. Sure, he’s the star of Something Beneath, a new direct-to-DVD horror on its way from Genius Products, but the only thing that’s going to do for the average horror fan is turn them away.
Luckily the art department at Genius picked up the slack with the decidedly badass cover art you see on your right. In a day and age where five-year-olds are allowed to make Photoshopped covers for most direct-to-DVD titles, it’s nice to see one with some style.
Something Beneath tells of a new conference center that is constructed on grounds that scientists repeatedly warn are toxic. Sure enough, pretty soon a massive, intelligent organism is oozing its way around the center, inducing deadly hallucinations in its victims and leaving a trail of bodies. Sorbo plays a priest who is tasked with stopping the deadly slime before it can take over the entire city.
Sounds like it could be fun, or it could be a CG-slime crapfest. Find out which it’s closer to in The Foywonder’s Something Beneath review from way back in October of last year. Something Beneath hits DVD on September 9th, 2008; click here to pre-order it now!
