Horror Going Downhill

After the perfectly mediocre year for theatrical horror that was 2014, it’s easy to say the genre we love is indeed floundering, but hey, we’ve had bad years before, and just like a good zombie, we always come back for more. Still, that’s not what this story is about. What we have here is the first word regarding the new flick from Patricio Valladares, Downhill.

Screen Daily is reporting that the Chilean director of Hidden In The Woods has lined up an April shoot for Downhill, a micro-budget survival thriller in what will mark his second English-language feature.

The story centers on a paralegal trapped on an mountain with a killer on a mission to kill a sick man. Think Cliffhanger meets Paranormal Activity by way of David Cronenberg’s old movies,” said Valladares.

Barry Keating and Valladares will co-write Downhill for producer George Von Knorring of Chile’s Too Much Films.
