New Ghostbusters Rumor Shot Down
Another rumor put to rest today, and this one I have to say makes me a bit sad, cause I thought the initial concept was a good one.
A few weeks back we “>reported on a rumor that the crew behind most of Judd Apatow’s movies, including Paul Rudd, Seth Rogan and Steve Carrell, may be joining with the original Ghostbusters quartet in a new sequel in which the old guys would be breaking in the new guys.
Well, MTV got to chatting with Paul Rudd about that very rumor recently (I guess we should be a little flattered it went so high?) and Rudd debunked it. ”I’ve heard this rumor. A couple of days ago somebody asked me that, and that was the first I’d heard about it.” Rudd commented, ”It’s incredibly flattering to be in a rumor. I would do it in a second with those guys. But do you think it’s a good idea to redo “Ghostbusters”? It’s a classic.”
Though Rudd seems to think they’re discussing a remake and not a sequel, the point is he’s obviously heard nothing about it, which is a good indcation that it was just wishful thinking in the first place.
Ah well, at least it saves me having to worry if it’ll be as bad as Ghostbusters 2…
