Corn Remake Rolling Soon
Looks like He Who Walks Behind the Rows is preparing to make a return to trip to Iowa’s Quad Cities. A reader threw us a heads-up that the Quad City Times has a new article up about the Children of the Corn remake that’s set to go in front of cameras next month.
The shoot’s going down September 3-30, and writer/producer/director Donald Borchers (a producer on the 1983 original) told the newspaper that they’d be staying much closer to Stephen King’s original novella than the first movie did.
“They put a lot of sugar, if you will, into the coffee,” Borchers quipped. “Stephen King doesn’t take his coffee with sugar. We wanted to stay faithful to the decisions in his original story.”
Here’s hoping he’s a man of his word! The Children of the Corn remake will air on the Sci Fi Channel in 2009 but will see a theatrical release across Europe. Stay tuned for casting news very soon!
