Marzi Montazeri to Score Hairmetal Shotgun Zombie Massacre: The Movie
We have some more quick news to share regarding a project that’s home to one of our favorite titles ever, Hairmetal Shotgun Zombie Massacre: The Movie. Marzi Montazeri, guitarist for Philip H. Anselmo and the Illegals as well as his own band Heavy As Texas, has come aboard to score the flick!
“Music and film go hand in hand, and I’ve always been fully aware of the dynamics it creates and the moods it sets for the scenes so I’ve always wanted to score a movie,” says Montazeri (pictured below).
“When I heard of Josh Vargas’ Hairmetal Shotgun Zombie Massacre: The Movie, I wanted in! The title alone was enough, but after viewing it, I am truly looking forward to injecting my musical sense into this . Josh is an incredible new talent with a giant heart and working with him is gonna be a blast.”
The flick, co-written by Vargas along with Justin Whitney (based on his own short story), is also directed by Vargas and features cameos by Tom Araya (Slayer), Randy Blythe (Lamb of God), and David Vincent (Morbid Angel).
Hairmetal Shotgun Zombie Massacre: The Movie centers on a hairmetal band that is struggling to find its own identity. The members decide to record their first full length album in a creepy cabin located in the middle of a notorious cemetery. Chock-full of weed, coke, and booze, the band discovers a secret in the cellar and unwittingly opens a gate that allows demons to possess the corpses in the surrounding cemetery. Forced to survive the night and with the odds getting slimmer, the band must battle hordes of the demonic undead and hope to get a record deal somewhere in the process.
Look for a trailer soon! In the interim dig on the first stills and behind-the-scenes video below.
