It’s hard to keep track of all the horror films coming out, but damn it, we try. One flick that almost slipped past our radar is Ed Boase’s The Mirror, which played as part of the UK’s FrightFest.

What is it, you ask? The Mirror is based on a true story (yes, really) from 2013 about two flatmates in North London who rescued an antique mirror from a skip: All sorts of horrors befell them, including weird scratches, ghostly mists, and furniture moving by itself. They got so freaked out they listed it on eBay as a “haunted mirror” and got international media attention from the likes of Daily Mail, Huffington Post, CNN and The London Evening Standard.

The film will be hitting iTunes here Stateside on Tuesday with a DVD release still pending. Jemma Dallender (I Spit on Your Grave 2), Nate Fallows (“Broadchurch”), and Joshua Dickinson (“Holby City”) star.

Synopsis:
Three flatmates buy a haunted mirror on eBay to claim the One Million Dollar Paranormal Prize offered by the James Randi Foundation. Their desire to win blinds them to the evil forces they have brought into their world, which exact a terrible revenge. Based on a true story.
