Matt Reeves Lets the Right One In!
I was completely unaware that Tomas Alfredson’s Let the Right One In (review) was even being optioned for a remake, considering it’s such a new film. The vampire tale has caught the eye of Hammer Films, and a certain monster director has been tapped to helm the U.S. adaptation.
Matt (“>Cloverfield) Reeves has been given the task to Americanize the Swedish book-turned-film for a 2009 release date according to Variety. No casting news was mentioned, but we know that Swedish producers John Nordling and Carl Molinder will co-produce with the team of Hammer’s Simon Oakes and Spitfire’s Guy East and Nigel Sinclair.
Hammer and Spitfire films nabbed up the rights to Let the Right One In during 2008’s Tribeca Film Festival.
