Style-Filled Trailer for French Vamp Film Sodium Babies
Nothing makes your film stand out amongst the usual crap indies like having some style. Sodium Babies, a new French vampire film directed by Benoit & Julien Decaillon, has more than enough style. In fact, I’m sure it could loan you some if you need it.
Once again the guys at Quiet Earth threw us a heads up about an obscure movie, and while the title is odd and the poster is “eh”, the trailer is pretty badass if I do say so myself. Just a minute or two in I was sold, and that’s with a crappy YouTube player. Imagine what this sucker’d look like on the big screen!
Sodium Babies is the story of Maurice, who in 1973 is very happy to be getting out of the Army and back to his lady. He’s not able to rest for long, however, as Max, an evil ghoul, forces him to enlist in The Fellowship. Maurice is then sucked into 30 years of servitude, just waiting for his chance to get back at those who wronged him.
At least, I think that’s what it’s about; it’s hard to find anything in clear English for it right now.
Big Screen Entertainment Group (Babysitter Wanted) has the worldwide rights to Sodium Babies, which screened at the most recent Cannes, and they’ll be looking for distro deals at the upcoming American Film Market in Santa Monica. Hopefully we’ll have some good news about it then. For now feast thine eyes upon the trailer below, and check out the Sodium Babies MySpace page for more!
