Cast Set for Anderson’s Latest
Though his latest effort does sound like more of a mystery akin to classic Hitchcock than a straight-up horror film, Brad Anderson’s always walked that fine line and I’m sure wouldn’t want to be categorized as anything other than a director of good, disturbing films.
The latest is called Trans-Siberian and this morning Variety has learned that casting for the film is underway. Woody Harrelson and Samantha Morton will star as an American couple traveling the Trans-Siberian Railway from China to Moscow in an effort to re-kindle their romance. They hook up with another couple, to be played by Kate Mara and Eduardo Noriega, and through circumstances beyond their control soon the four of them are knee-deep in murder and mistrust. Ben Kingsley and Thomas Kretschmann have also signed on as two police officers in pursuit of the foursome.
Wow, Woody Harrelson working with Brad Anderson? I can’t say I’m opposed to the idea as he’s about as far away from his days on “Cheers”, but it sure it’s what I expected. You can learn more about Trans-Siberian over on Filmax’s production page. Shooting begins on December 11th with locations in Bejing, Russia and Lithunia. A far cry from the one-location shoot that was Session 9!
Wonder how romantic a train in Siberia could be in our forums!
