Terror From Beneath the Earth’s Halloween Tease
For the past 2-3 years an enterprising filmmaker named Christopher R. Mihm has been making his own homegrown homages to the classic black & white sci-fi monster movies of yore. I reviewed his first, “>Monster from Phantom Lake, a while back. Since then he has produced It Came from Another World and Cave Women on Mars. The first look at his latest, Terror from Beneath the Earth, due out next year, will be go online for Halloween – but only for a few hours.
“After years of underground atomic testing, one of the animals living within the Wisawa caves (a system that stretches from Phantom Lake to the Deadlands) has undergone a radical and unimaginably horrible transformation! While exploring the caves, Dr. Vincent Edwards and colleague Rosemary Bennett stumble across evidence in the disappearance of local children. After reporting the find to the local sheriff, Dr. Edwards and Rosemary are tapped to lead a rescue attempt. Along with the sheriff and small-town farmer Stan Johnson (the children’s father), the rescue party quickly comes to the realization that if the caves don’t get them, whatever unseen terror lurking in the shadows just might!”
Word I’ve heard is the Terror from Beneath the Earth is a mutant bat monster.
Though still in production, a teaser trailer is scheduled to appear on Christopher R. Mihm’s official website for Halloween, but only for a few hours.
“The video will ONLY be available for viewing on Halloween.” Mihm said, “The teaser will be embedded on this page on October 31st at 12:01am (Central) and taken down at 11:59pm the same day. This is the ONLY time this footage will be available before the actual release of the film next year!”
So if you have a fondness for atomic age creature features take a few moments out from your trick or treating to take a sneak peek at this Halloween goodie during its 12-hour window.
