Max Brooks Talks World War Z Adaptation
Just the other day it was announced that the adaptation for Max Brooks’ amazing post-zombie apocalypse novel, “>World War Z, finally had a director in the form of Quantum of Solace helmer Marc Forster. The freaks at Fango then swooped in to talk to the author about the developments, all of which he seems very happy with.
“Now that we have a director, we have a captain of the ship,” Brooks said during last weekend’s Fangoria Radio show. “Marc will determine start date, cast, locations, etc. For me personally, I’m content to go off to Iceland and let them make their movie.”
He also said that he’s very happy with the latest script draft, penned by The Changeling writer J. Michael Straczynski, which takes the numerous journal entries that makes up World War Z and puts them into a cohesive storyline. “I can’t give it away, but Straczynski found a way to tie it all together. The last draft I read was amazing,” he told the mag.
The next project for Brooks is the graphic novel Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks, which Avatar Press will be releasing in the spring. Keep it here for more on both projects as we learn it!
