WonderCon 2015: Blumhouse Bringing The Gallows, Unfriended, and Insidious Chapter 3
If there’s one thing horror fans should be checking out at this year’s upcoming WonderCon, it’s the Blumhouse presentation taking place on Saturday, April 4th, in Room Arena at 5:00 PM, during which producer Jason Blum will present footage from Unfriended, Insidious Chapter 3, and for the first time ever, their latest found footage flick, The Gallows (formerly Superstition).
Speaking of which, we have the new synopsis for The Gallows below. Look for it in theatres on July 10, 2015.
The high school-set horror movie also marks the first feature-length film financed by Film 360, the film production arm of Management 360. Chris Lofing and Travis Cluff direct the movie, which is said to be in the vein of I Know What You Did Last Summer. The Fresno-based directors shot the film on a micro-budget with a cast of up-and-comers including Cassidy Gifford, Ryan Shoos, Reese Mishler, and Pfeifer Brown.
“It’s a genre we have a great affinity for, and our team is particularly skilled at sizing up what will work with a youth-oriented audience,” says Carolyn Blackwood, executive VP strategy and operations at New Line.
More on this one soon!
Synopsis:
Twenty years after an accident caused the death of the lead actor during a high school play, students at the same small town school resurrect the failed stage production in a misguided attempt to honor the anniversary of the tragedy—but ultimately find out that some things are better left alone.
