Anchor Bay Announces Alphabet Killer DVD Specs
Anchor Bay has announced the details of its upcoming DVD release of “>The Alphabet Killer, which is slated to hit shelves January 6th of 2009. This marks a mere one month wait after the film’s limited theatrical release, which is scheduled to begin in early December.

The film is loosely based upon a quite real series of slayings that rocked Rochester, New York in the early 1970’s. Victims were brutally raped and strangled, their bodies dumped in neighboring villages that bore the same first initial as their names. All three victims’ – young girls, aged 10 to 12 — first and last names also had matching initials. Despite questioning more than 800 suspects and the combined police resources of several communities, the case remains unsolved to this day.
The Alphabet Killer details the efforts of Megan Paige (Eliza Dushku), a NY police investigator who becomes obsessed with the murders. Megan’s inability to capture, or even identify, the murderer causes an eventual breakdown in her personal life as well as her career. Her pursuit and frustration finally manifest into obsession, and she becomes plagued with hallucinations of the victims. Though faced with sketchy leads and no suspects, Megan is determined to catch the Alphabet Killer before he can claim another victim.
