Tribeca 2015: IFC Midnight Gets Stung
The Tribeca Film Festival wrapped up this past weekend, and a bit of distro news that came out during the event slipped under our radar. But we’ve remedied that situation now so read on for the details of which popular genre film distributor snatched up visual effects artist Benni Diez’s Stung.
IFC Midnight acquired the wild horror-comedy and should be announcing its release plans shortly.
Matt O’Leary (Frailty, Death Sentence), Jessica Cook, Peter Stormare, and Lance Henriksen (Aliens) all star in Stung, which was written and directed by Diez. Christian Becker and Benjamin Munz of Munich and Berlin-based Rat Pack Film Production produced.
Synopsis:
For catering staffers Paul and Julia, Mrs. Perch’s fancy garden party at her remote country villa is nothing out of the ordinary. A mishap with toxic plant fertilizer leads to the most unwelcome of dinner guests: giant killer wasps. Benni Diez takes audiences on a thrilling, gory roller coaster ride from campy to creepy in this delightful and dreadful creature-feature.
