Arrow’s Katrina Law Talks Apparition
With the release of the psychological thriller Apparition (review) coming at us faster than a freight train, we here at Dread Central were lucky to be able to grab a few minutes with its star, Katrina Law. This raven-haired stunner plays Lori, a woman who after death is none too happy with her fiancé’s new choice of accompaniment and makes her presence known to protest such actions.
Dread Central- Can you describe your character, Lori, in the film ?
Katrina Law- For the most part I think the Lori that we see in the film is a manipulation of what her husband remembers her as and what the house wants her to be. She is a combination of tranquility, bitterness, desire, and regret. Lori is the catalyst that allows the house to break Doug down and eventually help it get what it wants.
DC – How did you get your start in the business?
KL- I fell in love with acting the summer that I booked Cassie from A Chorus Line for a summer theatre program near my home town. I had grown up a singer and a dancer, but this was the first time that I actually got to factor acting into the mix and I loved every second of it. From there I switched my major from Marine Biology to Theatre. I volunteered to be a set production assistant on the set of Lucky Numbers, landed a small role in that same film, eventually made the move out to LA, and I never looked back.
DC- What is it about this movie that scares you?
KL -Scary movies in general scare the crap out of me because I always believe there is a slight possibility that the horror that takes place in the movies could actually happen. And to be honest, the house that we shot the film in was quite intimidating and I never liked it when I found myself suddenly alone in one of its rooms. It was almost like you could feel the spirits of the house breathing on your neck, so I guess it’s appropriate that the house featured in this movie scares me.
Katrina Law, Jody Quigley, Lili Bordán, and Pete Postiglione star in Quinn Saunders’ Apparition.
Synopsis:
When his beautiful fiancée, Lori (Law), is killed in a car accident, Doug (Quigley) retreats in solitude to the isolated farmhouse that should have been his new family’s home. As he grieves and further isolates himself from his friends and society, he learns that he is not alone in this quaint home. Plagued with grief and tragic memories, supernatural events leave Doug fearing for his sanity until he’s able to find solace and a brief respite in the company of his new neighbor, Jamie (Bordán). As the two grow closer, Doug pulls Jamie in with him deeper into the increasingly horrifying events that unleash a psychological terror in the old farmhouse.
