Silent Night, Deadly Podcast: Ep1 – BLACK CHRISTMAS (2006)
You asked for it, Tiny Tim asked for it, the Ghost of Marley asked for it, and now Dread Central is proud to present the year-round Christmas horror podcast you’ve long been waiting for…Silent Night, Deadly Podcast! Chris, Kieran, Matt and Rob – collectively known as “The Jingle Boys” – are prepared to take you on one demented journey through a winter wonderland of the best and worst tinsel terror the big (and small) screen has to offer.
On this debut episode, The Jingle Boys head to college and check in on the sisters of Delta Alpha Kappa in Glen Morgan’s 2006 seasonal slasher, Black Christmas (or is it Black Xmas?!). This remake of Bob Clark’s film of the same name follows a similar story of a sorority house terrorized by a creepy killer named Billy while introducing a backstory centered on parental abuse and incest. Is this a modern masterpiece or the bastardization of an undisputed classic?
The boys sharpen their candy canes and fight it out, debating not only the merits of the film but also the differences between skin cookies and skin jerky. Someone tries to argue Black Christmas (2006) is superior to Black Christmas (1974). Rowdiness ensues. Grab some eggnog, get cozy and have yourself a listen!
