Unless you’re a horror fan who has been hiding under a rock and avoiding the Internet at all costs, it’s very likely that you have heard of James Farr’s amazing animated series Xombie. I, like many of you, spent lots of time going out of my mind waiting for new episodes by rewatching the older ones. Now, thanks to Halo 8 Entertainment, we get the entire web phenomenon in one neat little package called Xombie: Dead on Arrival! Hell, yeah!
Xombie: Dead on Arrival follows the exploits of uber-zombie Dirge (voiced by Geoff Edwards) as he hacks, slashes, and smashes his way through hordes of the living dead as a means to reunite a lost little girl with her family in a nearby town. Along the way there’s violence, comedy, mayhem, and every single thing we could hope for in a horror flash animated series that’s been chugging along on its own steam for over six years.
Simply put, James Farr is a genius! The guy is meticulous at what he does, and as a result he has carefully crafted an entire universe that horror fans have fallen crazy in love with. There’s a very good reason Xombie has become the rage that it has. One viewing of just one episode, and you’ll know exactly why.
As if having the entire series at our fingertips to watch on our home theatre systems instead of huddled in front of a PC weren’t enough of a gift, Halo-8 has given us a nice selection of special features to rifle through as well.
Each episode can be watched with a commentary track by James Farr, there’s a brilliant nearly fifteen-minute long look at the making of Xombie that follows the road from inspiration to fandom, and for those of us that can’t get enough, a digital PDF of the Xombie illustrated novel is thrown in for good measure. Bless you, Halo 8; bless you!
Don’t wait a second longer. Click the link below and order this for yourself like yesterday. Here’s to hoping for more from James and Dirge in the future. Believe the hype! Xombie rocks!
