Brother (Short)
Starring Capone Lee, David O’Donnell, Dezi Soley
Directed by Alrik Bursell
Sometimes, it’s not the mother or father that you’ve got to worry about when introducing the new boyfriend into the family – it’s the brother! In director Alrik Bursell’s 10 minute short film appropriately titled Brother, we get to see how the newest love interest of a young lady is received by the elder sibling, and just how far the boundaries of overprotection will be pushed…ooh, this could be bad.
Comedian Capone Lee plays Chris, older brother to Rebecca (Soley), who is introducing her new man (O’Donnell), and at the risk of sounding mean, the guy’s a first-class douche. Ogling other women, bad attitude, and just a general sleaziness to boot – yeah, this guy’s got it coming, but if and when? Bursell injects quick bits of humor to pace this quickie, and the end result is pretty damn satisfying.
