Foxwood Short Film Review – When A First Date Devolves Into Violence With A Smile
Starring Kalen Marie George, Ian Hock, Laura Peake
Directed by Trevor Dillon and Ian Hock
Meeting that special someone can be a bit of a stressful situation, but when it’s smack-dab in the middle of the holiday season – better yet, when it’s on Christmas night? Talk about wringing out the nerves, holly-jolly style!
In co-directors Trevor Dillon and Ian Hock’s horror/comedy short film Foxwood, we see a young couple (George and Hock) meet up in a festively decked-bar on the night of Yule, if you will for a little merriment, courtesy of an online-dating site. Initial reactions are good, the booze begins to flow, and before long the newly-introduced duo are off in a ride-service for a little “alone time.” What goes down next is the stuff of nightmares, and believe me when I tell you, when you sign up to meet someone online, one way or another you’re going to get what you pay for whether you like it or not.
The 16 minute quickie offers a little bit of crimson and some surprises, and aside from the pedestrian acting, this is a really entertaining short to check out, especially for those budding couples who are looking to put a little pop in their relationship…just be careful what you ask for, especially if you scare easily – make sure to give this one a look when it becomes available.
Summary
Even though the holiday season has come and gone, there’s no excuse to pass up this merry little gift from the dating gods – no exchanges, no returns!
