Now here’s something you don’t see every day: an adult-oriented animated horror film! To Your Last Death is just that and more! The set-up is fairly simple: the estranged children of a cruel and wealthy weapons manufacturer (Ray Wise) have been called in for a family reunion by their father at his office building.
Why does he want to spend time with them after all these years, especially since they intentionally derailed his political career? Are his motives sinister? Probably, given that he has some goons (including Bill Moseley) skulking about, but what are his exact plans? He’s not very trustworthy, but can they even trust each other? And what stake does a mysterious outside party (including Morena Baccarin & William Shatner) have in all of this?
All of these are important questions that will be answered over the course of this blood and gore-soaked dark comedy of a survival thriller.
What follows is an odd mix of films like Ready or Not, Mayhem, and Saw poured through the filter of adult animation similarly to what one might find in Archer or on Adult Swim. The result is a strikingly animated, carnage-filled romp that mashes up genres and packs some nice surprises. Not only that, but it’s all fueled by an incredibly game cast of voice actors.
There are some minor issues with pacing and some sequences can get a little too repetitive, even given the nature of the story at hand, but it’s nothing that sinks the picture. At the end of the day, To Your Last Death is an engaging bloody family drama that happens to look like a graphic novel come to life. If that sounds like it would be up your alley, you’re likely to have a very good time with this film.

Summary
To Your Last Death is what your would get if you filtered Ready or Not and Mayhem through an Archer animated filter. While not as good as those things, it’s still a nice slice of cartoon carnage.
