While Prime Video had several worthwhile gems available to stream for the month of May (if you haven’t watched From yet, what are you doing), the month’s most-watched thriller was a 2012 Denzel Washington vehicle. Safe House, which finished its theatrical run in 2012 with a respectable $208 million, is the month’s top thriller title. Check out the synopsis below:

Per Prime Video: Oscar-winner Denzel Washington stars in this high tension, action-packed thriller as a lethal prisoner who is escorted from a compromised safe house by a CIA Agent (Ryan Reynolds). They must make their way to another safe house in South Africa without being taken out by violent forces that want them both dead.

Those darned violent forces, always trying to take Hollywood A-listers out. Yet, in all earnestness, Safe House is a thrilling, tense piece of work, one elevated by Washington’s fierce, gruff performance. As one of this generation’s greatest performers, Washington easily elevates the sundry car chases and shootouts, lending them a kind of Old Hollywood panache Safe House desperately needed. It’s non-stop thrills from beginning to end. Check out the trailer for the thriller below:

Fans have also been incapable of getting enough of Washington’s thrilling turn here. As Safe House dominated the Prime Video charts, audiences have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts. Most are thrilled to have the chance to revisit one of Washington’s best roles from the last decade. Check out what fans had to say this month below:
