The Best Horror Movies Streaming Now on Prime Video

Last Updated: June 11, 2024

Prime Video is going all in on the action thrillers this month. They are giving the Kaiju kids 8 Godzilla titles. The streamer is also making sure James Bond fans revisit Daniel Craig’s tenure a few times this June. The app even suspected some millennials might want to relive their MTV Teen Wolf days and are adding the entire series. So, it is a wild assortment of content. Not all of my picks this time are as high profile as the stuff I have mentioned so far. Some might have flown under some of your radars, or you might have almost forgotten about it. However, I am excited to hit play immediately and cannot wait to tell you why below.

Brick

A loner investigates his ex-girlfriend’s disappearance in a high school’s underground crime world. Rian Johnson can make all of the flashy films he wants to, but I always remember him for this movie. Not only did it hit while I still had the hugest crush on Joseph Gordon-Levitt, but it also put Lukas Haas back in the genre. This movie also gets points because Richard Roundtree was there. How am I not going to celebrate an early aughts mystery that has Shaft in the cast? Be serious!

Juan Of The Dead

A man starts a zombie-killing business when the undead begins to rise, but his employees might not be as prepared as they thought they were. I want to see more Cuban horror comedy and I will also always make time for some zombie action. I discovered this Spanish film a few years ago and should rewatch it while I can. Shout out to Prime Video for making that possible this month! I am making my friends see it so I can ask if they like it more than Shaun of the Dead

Legion

A group of strangers in a diner must battle demonic forces alongside an archangel to protect a waitress and her unborn child. I can’t tell you this is the best movie to ever do any of the things it does. However, it has got a few moments that give it some razzle-dazzle. Also, the cast includes Paul Bettany, Charles S. Dutton, Kate Walsh, and Kevin Durand. When I saw Duran in Abigail, I wondered what else he was in. I soon discovered he’s in everything I love but always looks drastically different. I look forward to revisiting this movie with this information.

The Boys: Season 4

A group of vigilantes continue their war against corrupt superheroes, and this season the stakes are higher than ever. I am a little obsessed with The Boys and refuse to unpack why. It is fun, disgusting, and seems hellbent on continuing a streak of fantastic guest stars. It might be the only Prime Video series I make a point to watch the day it airs to avoid spoilers. I am finally working through the back half of the spin-off, Gen V, to prepare for the return. I am beyond sad we will not get as many crossover opportunities for Chance Perdomo’s character as I hoped. It is going to be a bittersweet return to this bizarre universe.

The K2: Season 1

A special ops agent is framed for murder and then hired as a bodyguard for the daughter of a powerful man. If you missed this 16-episode series when it aired in 2016, join me in hitting play this month. I will not miss out on the chance to watch this action-packed Korean political thriller again. I hope one season is enough because we probably won’t get more after 8 years. I’m grateful Prime Video is giving me the chance to finally see this one.
