The Best Horror Movies Streaming Now on Hulu
Last Updated: March 6, 2025

Hulu is keeping it cute and chaotic with this month’s programming. The streamer is adding the first four Predator movies to complement all of their Alien activity. The app is also dropping the brand new Control Freak, which looks like unsettling fun. However, they are bringing 2024’s Hellboy: The Crooked Man into the fold for people who decided to wait and see it for free later in life. It is hard to be mad at this lineup of wild cards. As genre fans, there is actually something for everyone. Whether that’s 1990s thrillers like L.A. Confidential and True Lies. Or new gripping series like Deli Boys and everything in between. So, I felt like a kid in a candy store choosing five titles to highlight this March. I am happy to present the most nerdy and eclectic hitlist titles below.
Alien (dir. Ridley Scott)
The crew of a commercial spacecraft discovers a deadly lifeform. Alien is the best movie Ridley Scott has ever given the world. This explains why the franchise refuses to die (looking directly at last year’s Alien: Romulus). This Sigourney Weaver moment will always be the correct choice on whatever streamer it is on. However, I also clocked that Hulu is adding six other franchise entries, making it the streamer holding the entire series. This means we can all catch up before Alien: Earth lands on the app later this year. So, if you want to rewatch the complete saga, March is your chance. It is also a great time to induct newer genre fans if you have friends who don’t know why the Xenomorph is our queen.
Gannibal: Season 2 Premiere
A picturesque village might also be a place with a large cannibal community. A police officer enters the scene to get answers and stumbles into the town’s horrifying secrets. If you have been waiting for the second season of this Japanese folk horror show, then your wait is almost over. Gannibal finally returns on March 19, and I imagine it will give us even more to chew on. I am hoping to rewatch the first season to refresh my memory. If you are hungry for more, the series is based on Masaaki Ninomiya’s manga of the same name. I imagine it’s also finger-licking good.
Good American Family: Series Premiere
A Midwest couple adopts a child with dwarfism. However, they begin to suspect there is more to this story, which ultimately leads them to a tabloid nightmare and a court case. This show is on my radar because it’s based on real events. This 8-episode dramatization of the harrowing Natalia Grace case also has a few familiar faces. Mark Duplass, Ellen Pompeo, and Dulé Hill are part of the cast tasked with bringing this unbelievable story to Hulu. Most of us are familiar enough with the case of neglect because it has been the center of media attention for so many years. I doubt I am the only one interested in seeing how this miniseries will summarize this tale for television audiences.
New Life (dir. John Rosman)
A mystery woman on the run and the fixer assigned to bring her must navigate unprecedented events as their cat-and-mouse game unfolds. New Life has been on my radar forever, and I am happy to see it finally landing on Hulu. I will never grow tired of women-led apocalyptic horror, and I have heard great things about this movie. So, I am happy we’ll all finally be able to dig into it and see what it’s about this month. This film is also exciting because it is John Rosman’s first feature, and we love to see new filmmakers enter the chat. I plan to check this 2023 gem out and think you should do the same.
The Line (dir. Ethan Berger)
A scholarship student is charmed by a fraternity’s promises of powerful connections and social climbing opportunities. However, as the hazing rituals begin, he is forced to choose between his ambitions and his loyalties. I missed this thriller last year but have been curious about it for so long. The Line stars Alex Wolff, Lewis Pullman, and Halle Bailey. The film is also sadly one of Angus Cloud’s final films before his untimely death. Aside from a ridiculously talented cast, the movie also has my attention because it explores privilege and class. So, I am leaning all the way in, as fraternity thrillers are some of the best films to have those conversations. This title feels more timely every time I think about it.
