Barbara Crampton on Being a Mean Mom in ‘ALONE WITH YOU’ and ‘KING KNIGHT’

Barbara Crampton

Barbara Crampton continues her amazing renaissance as an actress and producer since her return to mainstream horror in You’re Next. Since then, she’s really shown off her comedy chops in Fangoria’s Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich and Gigi Saul Guerrero’s Culture Shock. The vampire horror comedy Jakob’s Wife landed on everyone’s Top 10 list in 2021 mostly due to Crampton’s incredible performance as an unhappy wife turned bloodsucker. Now, the legendary actress has two films coming out in the same month for the first time in her career.

Alone With You centers around a woman stuck in her Brooklyn apartment who starts to lose touch with reality. Introducing a new powerhouse filmmaking duo in Emily Bennet and Justin Brooks, it’s a claustrophobic, psychological nightmare with a twist ending.

King Knight is a charming, psychedelic comedy from director Richard Bates Jr (Excision, Trash Fire) where the roguish leader of a coven of witches has to tell the love of his life that he was the Prom King back in high school.

We sat down with Crampton to discuss her career, the odd coincidence of playing a mean mom in both films, and the new Lovecraft project she has waiting in the wings.
