New Web Series The Outer Darkness Comes from the Creators of Bloody Cuts

default-featured-image

Just when you thought you’d seen the last of the team that brought us the phenomenal Bloody Cuts web series, they’re back with an all new project! Wait until you get a load of The Outer Darkness.

As you may recall, the Bloody Cuts team delivered some amazing short horror films. Pieces like Suckablood and Don’t Move (both of which were Vimeo Staff Pick favorites) are two prime examples of the quality of work they created. But the real amazing thing about this team is this… they never miss. Every single short they made was a home run. From Stitches to Dead Man’s Lake to Mother Died to Prey and all the rest. The Bloody Cuts team delivers. Period.

So when, on June 11, 2014, we read a post that the filmmakers were putting an end to the Bloody Cuts series, we were saddened. Of course the message talked of other projects and “this isn’t the end,” but you know how that always goes.

Well, as it turned out, it wasn’t the end. The team is back, and their new project, The Outer Darkness, shows that they haven’t lost a step.

Do yourself a favor and check out The Outer Darkness: Part One below in its entirety. It stars Isla Carter, Tom Geoffrey, Antony Edridge, Anita Booth, Darren Kent, Ross Mullan, and Jonny Philips. It was written by Joel Morgan and produced and directed by Ben Franklin and Anthony Melton; the director of photography is Jonny Franklin.

Scarred For Life
Episode 266: Opus Writer/Director Mark Anthony Green and Michael Jackson's Thriller (1983)
This week we were unbelievably excited to chat with writer and director Mark Anthony Green! We talk about his feature film debut Opus, working with musical icons The-Dream and Nile Rodgers, Ayo Edebiri's star power and the eccentricities (and graciousness) of John Malkovich. Mark Anthony shares a fantastic story of John on set and so much more before we dig a bit into his horror history and find out why Michael Jackson's Thriller music video scared him as a kid. A shorter episode this week, but easily one of our favorite conversations in a long while. Don't miss it. And go see Opus in theaters!Follow Mary Beth, Terry and the Podcast on Bluesky.
